Hand in Hand
Student-Led Community Organization
PLANNING
It was the commence of our journey into the project; Reviewing and studying the previous year’s semi-finalists. we were all perceived by the amount of impact they’ve created. We had then observed the plenty issues globally, nationally and looking into a smaller scope, our community. Noticing the issues just by every day on the way to school, passing by streets and villages. Afterwards, we started to discuss our interests in each of our chosen global goals within the team, having various perspectives towards them.
Raising Money and Donations
Our ways to raise money have been more school-based than public. In collaboration with team ECO E.D.U, we organized a 4 days fundraising event selling bake goods to students, teachers, staffs and parents at Ascot International School. We had raised 9,100 baht ($280 USD, £ 225.60) in total and donated 5,000 baht (154.13 USD, £ 123.96) to Baan Nokkamin and the other half will be donated to a different charity.
Raising Awareness
We organised a reform booth to teach students, parents, staff, and teachers about the global goals and how to live a sustainable life. Furthermore, our team made board games based on the global goals to teach lower primary students about the global goals. They did not know anything about the global goals before, but after the teaching session, everyone could answer questions the easily.
Teaching at Foundations
Our team collaborated with ECO
E.D.U to teach 20-30 students at Baan Nokkamin Foundation. At the foundation, we started with a ‘Get to know’ activity and then separated the children there into 3 groups and started to teach about The Global goals, the importance of each goal and the importance of recycling. After the teaching sessions, we organized fun activities for everyone to work as a team promoting togetherness.
